WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to ensure the app remains fresh and relevant. This includes not only new features, but also updates to existing features to improve the overall experience. Now, as the channels feature is gaining popularity, WhatsApp is testing a new interface for channel lists to improve the user experience on the app.

According to WhatsApp feature tracker, Beta Information Western Australiathis feature was discovered in the new WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.4.19 update and is available to users who install the update.

The report further states that this new interface is similar to the current interface in the chat tab, providing a more familiar experience. This will allow users to identify and interact with new channel updates.

When will it be launched for everyone?

As mentioned earlier, the new channel list interface is only available to some beta testers using WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.24.4.19. However, now that the feature has become an official beta version of the app, the public version should be rolling out soon.

In related news, WhatsApp recently gave the app enhanced spam protection by allowing users to block users directly from the lock screen. The Meta-owned messaging app announced the same via a message sent from its official account. This helps you avoid various submenus and the unnecessary hassle of finding and opening a chat, helping users save the time it takes to block someone.
