Severe weather researchers say that a weak tornado was touched in a community north of London on Monday afternoon.
The Northern Tornado Project at Western University says that the tornado in Lukan, in Ontaris, began at around 3:20 pm and suffered minor damage, including snatching the ceiling sections from a farm building and tearing the ceiling sections.
The organization says it has evaluated the tornado as EF0, with an estimated maximum air speed 110 kmph and maximum path width of 100 meters.
It says that there is no injury.
On average, the organization says, the tornado season in Canada extends from mid -April to mid -September, for more than six months.
The organization says that about one -third tornado in Canada occurs in July, making it the highest month with tornado activity.
It states that the country experienced its longest tornado season on record last year, with the first tornado logged on to Malden Center, Onts on 16 March, and the final on November 10 near Fergus, Onts.
