Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve early this morning and enjoyed an elephant and jeep safari. He posted on X sharing glimpses of his “unforgettable” visit to Kaziranga and invited people to visit the place.

The two-minute video captures the reserve’s beauty at its most glorious, showing the Prime Minister visiting the reserve wearing a camouflage T-shirt and trousers, jacket and black hat.

The video shows him riding an elephant and using binoculars to observe flora and fauna. Prime Minister Modi saw one-horned rhinoceros, wild buffalo, deer and several species of birds in the sanctuary.

He was also seen feeding sugar cane to the elephants.

Prime Minister Modi also took a jeep tour and stopped at Davrang Watch Tower to enjoy the view of the holy site.

Later, the Prime Minister interacted with women forest guards ‘Van Durga’, mahouts and forest officials who are at the forefront of conservation efforts.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Kaziranga National Park Director Sonali Ghosh. Other senior forest officials and security personnel were also present.

The Prime Minister arrived in Kaziranga on Friday evening on a two-day visit to the state.

Due to security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit, the Jeep and Elephant Safaris in the central Kohola Range remain closed to tourists as of March 7. Jungle safari activities within the forest range will reopen to tourists on March 10.
