Watch: Astronauts take a virtual tour of the International Space Station

An astronaut from the European Space Agency (ESA) has given the public a virtual tour of the International Space Station (ISS). Five space agencies, NASA, JAXA, Roscosmos, CSA, ESA, and their contractors jointly manage the International Space Station, the largest space station ever built in low Earth orbit. Andreas Morgensen returned to Earth in mid-March after six and a half months on the International Space Station. He recorded a video inside the space station and showed it to his social media followers, documenting his time there as a member of NASA’s Crew-7 mission.

In a carefully crafted post on X (formerly Twitter) on April 12, ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen revealed: “It’s been a month since I left the International Space Station. The last thing I did on docking day was photograph the space station trip. It was both a souvenir for me and a way for me to share the wonder of the ISS with you whenever I miss it. , especially with my crew, I watch this video.”

Andreas Morgensen first showed a glimpse of the front of the space station. Above it, there is a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft that brought him to Earth on March 12. The roughly 114-by-22-foot Columbus module, which ESA provided as a science laboratory in 2008, can be seen in the video. Viewers can also see smaller Japanese Experiment Modules (JEMs) kept throughout the laboratory. Also known as Quibo, it was built shortly after Columbus.

Andreas Morgensen demonstrated through first-hand observation some of the other facilities of the International Space Station, such as workstations, storage units, toilets, fitness equipment, several docking nodes, and even the space station kitchen. Offering an unparalleled 360-degree view of the Earth and the impressive overall size of the space station, the Cupola is undoubtedly the most stunning attraction on the entire International Space Station (ISS).
