The Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals IPL 2024 match saw a controversial moment regarding the dismissal of Sanju Samson. The Rajasthan Royals batsman was on 86 and leading RR’s chase of 222 against DC in fine form when he was caught by Shai Hope off the bowling of Mukesh Kumar. It was a tough catch as Hope was almost on the boundary line. The third umpire gave it out but Sanju Samson refused to go. He kept talking to the on-field umpires, while DC owner Parth Jindal kept shouting ‘he is out’. Reluctantly, when Samson was going back, the RR dugout suggested that he might review that decision. However, that was not to be as he left.

Later, former India cricket and Star Sports pundit Varun Aaron said: “I think from the angles shown, it looked like a fair catch.

Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals legbreak spinner Yuzvendra Chahal on Tuesday etched his name in the history books by becoming the first Indian to achieve the historic figure of 350 wickets in the T20 format. Chahal achieved the feat against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

In his 301st T20 match, DC captain Rishabh Pant became his 350th victim in the T20 format. The left-handed batsman went down and tried to place his shot across the ground.

Lacking balance, Pant misplayed his shot and sent it straight to deep backward square leg into the safe hands of Trent Boult.

As Chahal rejoiced to celebrate his 350th T20 wicket, Pant walked back to the dugout with the score at 15(13).

Overall, former West Indies all-rounder DJ Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of cricket with an impressive 625 innings in 573 matches.

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan is in second place with 572 wickets in 424 matches. In third place is Kolkata Knight Riders’ in-form all-rounder Sunil Narine. The experienced star has 549 wickets in his name in 509 matches.

Chahal is the fifth spinner to take 350 wickets in the T20 format. Ahead of him are Rashid Khan (572), Sunil Narine (549), Imran Tahir (502) and Shakib Al Hasan (482).

In DC’s clash against RR, the 33-year-old spinner proved costly as he ended his four-over spell with one wicket and 48 runs at an economy of 12.00.

DC scored a mammoth 221/8 after explosive innings from Jake Fraser McGurk, Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs.
