The ongoing IPL 2024 match has been hit with toss-tampering accusations, with some fans claiming that match referee Javagal Srinath changed the outcome of the coin toss during the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The claims were debunked by social media users who provided video evidence that contradicted them. While fans took to social media to provide evidence for and against the claim, the topic came to the forefront again during MI’s match against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday. After the coin was tossed, PBKS stand-in captain Sam Curran stepped forward to check the result himself before the coin was picked up by the match referee.

The broadcaster also decided to zoom in on the results and clearly show that PBKS won the toss and they chose to play.

“We’re going to have a bowl. Just keep up with the flow of the game. Shikhar wasn’t feeling well, so that was the only injury, and Riley came in for Jonny today. This isn’t the first time allegations of coin toss tampering have made headlines, as a video showing a conversation between Fife and Pat Cummins convinced some fans they were talking about a coin toss.
