Vivo X Fold 3 series will be released, designed and key features previewed on this date

Vivo X Fold 3 series confirmed to be launched in China soon. The lineup will include Vivo X Fold 3 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. Previous leaks and reports have hinted at some key specifications of the alleged phone. Now, the company has confirmed the launch date of the series and a top official has also revealed some of the key features of the phone, including its design and color options. The book-style foldable product line is also confirmed to be launched together with new smart watches and new TWS headphones.

Vivo China banner website and a postal Weibo confirmed that the Vivo X Fold 3 series will debut in China at an event at the Shanghai World Expo Center on March 26 at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). Vivo Watch 3, Vivo TWS 4 and Vivo Pad 3 Pro also put It will be launched alongside the foldable smartphone.

The design of the Vivo X Fold 3 series has been teased in the launch date announcement. Vivo Vice President Jia Jingdong also once shared Promotional images of the phones suggest that the models will be available in at least two color options – black and white.

Officially, the Vivo X Fold 3 series phones will be the “thinnest and lightest” flagship foldable phones to date and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Pro model will feature an 8.03-inch Samsung E7 display, Vivo’s V3 imaging chip, and a 50-megapixel Zeiss camera, similar to the one found in the Vivo X100 series.

The vivo X Fold 3 series will be equipped with the “Armor Feather” design language of foldable smartphones. They are said to be the world’s first foldable phones to receive SGS’s five-star drop protection certification. Vivo officially confirmed that these models also come with IPX8 splash resistance rating.

Executives of the company said that the Vivo X Fold 3 mobile phone will be equipped with a “Blue Ocean” battery system, which is said to provide users with longer battery life. The phones are also said to come with Vivo’s “Blue Heart” AI model.

It was previously reported that the Vivo X Fold 3 smartphone will be lighter than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, which weigh 187 grams and 221 grams respectively. The upcoming phone may also come with OriginOS 4 based on Android 14. In terms of optics, they are expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a second 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. They are expected to come with 5,500mAh batteries and support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The regular Vivo X Fold 3 is expected to be priced at CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 92,100) in China, while the Pro model is likely to start at CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 1,15,100).
