The quake was the island’s strongest in 25 years, and officials warned of more to come in the coming days, AFP reported. Taiwanese officials reported it was the strongest earthquake since a 7.6-magnitude quake in 1999 that killed 2,400 people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of life in Taiwan’s earthquake and expressed India’s solidarity with the country’s “resilient” people.
