U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said on Monday that human drivers must stay focused at all times after videos showed people driving Tesla vehicles wearing Apple’s recently released Vision Pro headphones.

“As a reminder, all of today’s advanced driver assistance systems require the human driver to be in control and fully engaged at all times,” Buttigieg said.
Apple’s Vision Pro, released last week, blends three-dimensional digital content with views of the outside world. Apple said people should never use it while driving a moving vehicle but did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Buttigieg has previously made similar comments about the use of Tesla’s Autopilot. Tesla says its advanced driver features are designed for attentive drivers “who have their hands on the wheel and are ready to take over at a moment’s notice.”
