Emmerdale Star Victoria Sugden recently announced her split from ex-boyfriend Jacob Gallagher after a whirlwind romance.

Sugden decided to end their relationship after Gallagher’s mother Leila suggested she was getting in the way of him dealing with all the “big things” in his life.

Previously, Jacob decided not to continue his studies in Berlin, but to stay with Victoria.

After the news broke, Victoria officially parted ways with him, leaving Jacob heartbroken.

For the uninitiated, the pair decided to keep their romance low-key, fearing Victoria’s ex-boyfriend David Metcalfe.

However, David, Jacob’s father, is unable to cope with the news after learning of Jacob’s relationship with Victoria.

He left the village shortly after, coinciding with Matthew’s decision to leave the ITV soap.

Speaking about David’s exit from the show, Joe-Warren Plant said: “I’m devastated! I learned everything from him. I had no previous acting experience so everything came directly from Matthew. It’s sad but we’ll get there Go ahead and keep in touch – he was my best friend and Matthew was the most genuine person you could ever meet and I will definitely miss him.”

He further spoke about Jacob and David’s relationship as father and son, adding: “It’s nice to see the change in the conversation – everything is more mature and they talk about it more on a mature level. They always It’s great to get along and David is a great dad, but as a single dad, Jacob is enjoying spending more time with David…it’s going to be weird not having him around!”
