Valentine’s Day week: Record-breaking rose sales on Blinkit, CEO says

Today is Rose Day, February 7th. This day marks the beginning of Valentine’s Day week, culminating in Valentine’s Day on February 14th. This week provides couples around the world with the opportunity to express their love for their loved ones. This year, the week seems to be starting on a high note with record-breaking rose sales.

According to Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, the fast commerce company has delivered more roses by 11 a.m. this year than on Rose Day 2013.

“Crazy start to Valentine’s Day week! It’s only 11am and we’ve already sold more roses than we did on Rose Day 2023. Our analysts tell me there will be a bigger spike in the evening,” Dhindsa said at X Said in a post on.

He said that since the morning, about 20% of orders have been placed through our “order for someone else” process! “It’s great that we were able to help so many people send Valentine’s Day gifts today. Love is truly in the air.”

At the same time, he also shared some insights on chocolate sales for Rose Day 2024. He said it looked like more chocolate would be sold today than last year’s Chocolate Day.

“It looks like we will easily sell more chocolate today than we did last year on Chocolate Day,” Dhindsa said.
