A woman told staff after checking out of a Florida hotel that she was going to go on a God-directed shooting spree because of a solar eclipse, before gunning down two drivers on Interstate 10, Florida Speedway reported. He was then arrested on Monday and charged with attempted murder on patrol.

Taylon Nichelle Celestine, 22, of Georgia, entered the highway and headed west in the Florida Panhandle, 115 miles (180 kilometers) from the Alabama border. Within a 5-mile (8-kilometer) radius, she fired several times at a passing car, spraying the car’s glass and grazing the driver’s arm, the department said in a statement.

She then fired at a second vehicle, hitting the driver in the neck. The driver was injured and treated at hospital.

The woman traveled about 16 miles (26 kilometers) before police stopped her and discovered she was carrying an AR-15 rifle and a 9 mm handgun. She was arrested and booked into the Holmes County Jail. She was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper discharge of a firearm.

The Florida Highway Patrol did not provide details about bail or Celestine’s legal representation.
