The United States and Britain have imposed sanctions on a fundraising network aligned with the Palestinian group Hamas, the Treasury Department said on Wednesday.

It said in a statement that the punitive measures targeted two people and three entities involved in fundraising activities for Hamas, which both countries consider a terrorist organization.

“Treasury remains committed to reducing Hamas’s ability to fund its terrorist activities, including by channeling funds directly to the organization through online fundraising campaigns,” Treasury Deputy Secretary Brian Nelson said in a statement.

“This action is part of cooperation with the UK Foreign Sanctions Implementation Office, which is enforcing sanctions against these same targets,” the statement said.

The measures target the Gaza Now group, which the U.S. Treasury said began raising funds online after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7. This is the fourth time since then that the United States and Britain have taken coordinated sanctions action targeting Hamas fundraising activities.

Israel says Hamas militants killed 1,200 people in attacks in October and took more than 130 hostages in Gaza. Israel’s subsequent offensive in Gaza has killed more than 32,000 Palestinians, the health ministry in Hamas-ruled Gaza said on Wednesday.
