US Court: Donald Trump, as former president, is not immune from prosecution

Washington:

An appeals court ruled Tuesday that as a former president, Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution and could face prosecution on charges of trying to overturn the 2020 election.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said the argument that Trump is immune from criminal liability for actions he took as president is “unsupported by precedent, history, or the text and structure of the Constitution.”
