UP: VHP Moradabad chief arrested for creating tension by slaughtering cows

A Vishva Hindu Parishad district chief and three others were arrested for allegedly paying a man to slaughter a cow to create communal tension in the area and defame a local police officer, police said on Thursday.

According to police, the accused Monu Vishnoi had the carcass of an animal thrown away in Chatrapur area of ​​Chhajlet police station on January 16. Vishnoi and others also allegedly stole a cow and slaughtered it in a forest area. The four were arrested and jailed on Wednesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hemraj Meena said, “These incidents were planned and executed to create tension in the area and target the officers of police (SHO) of Chhajlet police station.” After the cow remains were found on January 16, the incident was We conducted a survey.

“Vishnoi informed the police about the body. The defendant also placed some clothes near the body, from which he found the photo and phone number of a local man.” When the police summoned the man for questioning, they found the first Suspect Shabudin.

On January 28, while the police were investigating the case, Vishnoi informed the police of a cow slaughter incident in the forest and uploaded a video showing the carcass of the slaughtered animal. “We first arrested Shabuddin on charges related to cow slaughter and during interrogation he told us that Monu Vishnoi gave him money to lay the carcass first on January 16 and then on January 1 On March 28, a cow was stolen and slaughtered,” the police officer said.

Apart from the two persons, the police also arrested Raman Chaudhry and Rajiv Chaudhry, both aides of Vishnoi, in connection with the case. “Monu vishnoi wanted to create trouble in the area and had a dispute with the local SHO.

He committed these acts to create tension in the area and damage the reputation of the police as he believed it would lead to the department taking action against the SHO,” the officer said.
