Shahjahanpur:

Authorities have issued a notice to a primary school here after an inspection found insects in flour used for lunch, officials said on Sunday.

Ranvijay Singh district basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) said he informed the teachers of Ganeshpur Primary School in Kalantsir after visiting the school on Saturday Notice was given.

He said during the inspection it was discovered that food was being cooked on the fireplaces despite the government providing them with gas cylinders and stoves.

He said insects were found in the flour while inspecting ingredients for lunch preparations.

Taking into account the seriousness of the matter, Ranvijay Singh issued notices to the school teachers and warned of strict action against those found guilty, officials said.

Ranvijay Singh said he inspected six schools in the district on Saturday, during which he found teachers absent from three schools and the number of students attending classes was less than the enrollment.

Most teachers in these schools have not implemented digital attendance, the BSA said, adding that action was being taken to address the issues.

A committee has been formed to look into the lapses and submit a report based on which legal action will be taken against the guilty teachers, the official added.
