Three people, including a six-year-old girl, were killed and two women injured when a car rammed into a road bus on the Prayagraj-Lucknow highway on Tuesday, police said.

Kunda Circle officer (CO) Ajit Singh said the incident took place near Bishia village in Hathigawan district around 8.30 pm when some people were driving from Prayagraj to Mangarh ashram.

Mr Singh said the vehicle hit a road bus, injuring five people, including two women.

The CO said the victims were rushed to hospital where three of them – Anuj Goswami (32), Vaishnavi Goswami (25) and Gungun Goswami (6) were declared dead.

He said the condition of two women – Anita (40) and Twinkle (25) – was critical and they were rushed to Prayagraj for better treatment.

The matter is under investigation. The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy, the official added.
