A 20-year-old man was arrested for booking a taxi in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi at the home of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, police said on Friday.

According to Mumbai Police, the accused was identified as Rohit Tyagi, a 20-year-old man from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

Revealing details, police said the accused booked a cab from actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi to Bandra police Bureau (Bandra Police Station).

Police said: “When the taxi driver reached Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment and asked the caretaker there about the booking, the caretaker was initially surprised but immediately informed the nearby Bandra police station about the booking. “

Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Bandra police interrogated taxi drivers and traced information of people who booked taxis online.

“The person who booked the taxi is a 20-year-old student named Rohit Tyagi from Ghaziabad,” police said.

Police further said that during investigation it was discovered that the accused had booked a cab in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a prank.

Police registered a case against the accused and arrested him from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

He was then taken to Mumbai to appear before the court and was detained by the Bandra police for two days.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kutch police arrested two accused and handed them over to Mumbai Crime Branch. Subsequently, the city court sent the two accused to the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch till April 25 in connection with the shooting incident.

The accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, appeared in court after medical examination.

At about 5 a.m. on Sunday, the two men rode a motorcycle outside the Galaxy Apartments where the actor lived, fired four shots and fled. CCTV footage showed both defendants wearing hats and carrying backpacks.

The clip also shows them firing in the direction of the actor’s home.

After the arrest of the accused, Kutch DSP AR Zankant said preliminary investigation revealed that the accused has links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Notably, since November 2022, Salman Khan has The security level has been upgraded to Y-Plus.

The actor was also authorized to carry a personal firearm and purchased a new armored vehicle for added protection.

On Monday, Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan issued a statement on behalf of the family, saying they had all been affected by the “disturbing” sacking.

He also said that the family is fully cooperating with the Mumbai police’s ongoing investigation into the incident.
