A special court here on Friday postponed the hearing in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s defamation case to April 2 due to a strike by lawyers.
The defamation complaint against Rahul Gandhi was lodged by BJP leader Vijay Mishra for his alleged objectionable remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah.
Santosh Pandey, the plaintiff’s advocate, said the hearing in the case was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed to April as lawyers walked off the job over various demands and abandoned court proceedings. 2nd.
The case was filed in August 2018. In December last year, the court issued an arrest warrant for Rahul Gandhi.
Later, Rahul Gandhi stopped his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Amethi on February 20 and reached the court and was granted bail.
