UP court orders case against Swami Prasad Maurya

Complainant alleges Swami Prasad Peacock repeatedly hurt sentiments of Hindus (File)

The MP-MLA court on Saturday ordered the Wazirganj police station to file an FIR against former Samajwadi Party politician Swami Prasad Maurya for making statements against Goddess Lakshmi , hurting Hindu sentiments.

Special Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ambrish Kumar Srivastava ordered an inquiry into the statements made by former Samajwadi Party general secretary Swami Prasad Maurya on X and to the media.

The complainant, Ragini Rastogi, claimed that his statement in a newspaper on November 15 last year had hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus.

According to her complaint, Swami Prasad Maurya also made derogatory remarks in a post on X.

The complainant claimed that Swami Prasad Maurya had made similar remarks on many occasions, hurting the sentiments of Hindus.
