The United States says “fundamental changes” are needed before Washington can resume funding for the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, which it withheld over Israeli accusations that some agency staff were involved in an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas militants. US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield has welcomed a UN investigation into allegations against staff at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and a planned institutional review. She also said the United States was seeking more details from Israel about the allegations.
