Amid increased tension between India and Pakistan, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will review the security of scientific and technical establishments across India today in a meeting with senior officials and heads of institutions to ensure safety and preparations.
On Thursday, Dr. Singh held a detailed review meeting with Jammu’s Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and district officials to review the administrative system and public confidence measures in view of developments for the last two days.
The meeting was mainly focused on dealing with fake news following public safety, civil defense, transport, bunkers, withdrawal camps, medical care, and recent developments in the last two days.
Dr. Singh praised the quick action of the district teams and emphasized the need to face the situation with full government and public support under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on X, Dr. Singh wrote, “Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sh Ramesh Kumar and DMS/DCS of #Kathua, #Samba, #JAMMU, #Poonch and #Rajouri, widely reviewed administrative arrangements and public confidence measures in view of the last two days of development.”
Meanwhile, in a decisive vengeance action after firing by Pakistan Rangers on Friday night, the Border Security Force (BSF) has confirmed the complete destruction of a terrorist launch pad located in Loni in Sialkot district of Pakistan in front of Akhhal region of Jammu.
The strike was part of a measured response for the ceasefire violations that began around 9 pm on Friday.
The BSF, which is mandatory to protect the 3,323 km India-Pakistan border, also released a hand-held thermal image (HHTI) clip for the destruction of the Pakistani post Dhankar.
Sources told ANI that India retaliated soon after attacking 26 places across India on Saturday. Firing is still going on in many places along the Line of Control (LOC).
Sources in the top government said that at least four airbases in Pakistan collided with Indian attacks in the early hours of Saturday, as tension between the two countries continues to increase. (AI)
