Increasing India-Pakistan tension, huge border shelling by Pakistan caused damage to homes and religious places in Kupwara, URI and Poonch of J&K. Local people vowed to stand with the Indian Army despite the attacks.
Homes and properties in the URI have also been severely damaged in shelling, which has targeted civil areas.
In Poonach, houses and water tanks in civil areas suffered widespread damage.
Balbir Singh, a resident of Poonch, said, “The whole house has been damaged. Nearby houses have also been damaged … Pakistan is targeting civilian areas … They are deliberately targeting Poonach … Gurudwaras, temples and mosques are leaving … They are all coaching.”
“We were uprooted in 1947 and then came to stay here. Now a large -scale firing continues. We will not leave Ponch and go somewhere else. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with the army and administration. They can bomb us as much as we want, we will be afraid, we will be afraid.”
State Disaster Response Forces (SDRF), local police and administration officials have closed the area near the AAP Shambu temple in Jammu, where a Pakistani strike took place. SDRF personnel confirmed that no casualties were done.
A resident near the AAP Shambu temple said, “This is the main gate of the Shambu temple, where people come to pray in the morning, but the siren was active, and so very few people were here. Pakistan will have to face a suitable answer …”
Meanwhile, Jammu Police and other agencies are working to recover the projected pieces from the site. Projectiles were recovered in Bishnah and Lasadan areas of Jammu, while spliers and debris were also found in Akhanur, although there was no major structural damage.
Four airbase in Pakistan collided with Indian attacks in the early hours today, sources told ANI that tension between the two countries continues to increase.
Sources said that Pakistan retaliated soon after Pakistan attacked 26 places across India. Firing is still going on in many places along the Line of Control (LOC). (AI)
