UK to offer 3,000 visas to Indian professionals through voting system

this U.K. The door has been opened to Indian citizens who want to settle, work or study in the country for two years. The British High Commission in India issued a statement announcing the new voting system under the Young Professionals Scheme in India.

Under the scheme, the UK will provide 3,000 visa Indians aged 18-30 years. They will be allowed to pursue their careers on European soil. The voting window will be open from February 20 at 2:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST) to February 22 at 2:30 pm IST.

According to guidance on the UK government website, candidates will need to provide personal details: name, date of birth, passport details, passport scan or photo, phone number and email address

Additional requirements to apply are to have savings of at least £2,530 and not have any dependent children under 18 years of age.

Successfully entered the competition

Successfully submitted ballots will be randomly selected. Results will be emailed to applicants within two weeks after voting closes. The deadline to apply for a visa is 90 days from the date of the email. Applicants must submit biometric information and pay a visa application fee, which includes the Immigration Health Surcharge. Only then will the applicant be considered for a visa. After applying for a visa, Indian professionals must travel to the UK within six months. The visa fee is £298 (Rs 31,110).

The UK-India Mobility and Immigration Partnership was established in May 2021 and involves Young Professionals Program. The agreement underlines the UK and India’s commitment to improving immigration laws and strengthening joint efforts to combat immigration offences.
