UK court: Computer scientist’s claim that he invented Bitcoin was untrue

A judge said Thursday that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

London:

An Australian computer scientist who claims to have invented Bitcoin is not the anonymous inventor of the cryptocurrency, a High Court judge in London ruled on Thursday.

Craig Wright has long claimed to be the author of the 2008 white paper, the foundational text of Bitcoin, published under the name “Satoshi Nakamoto.”

The Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) took Wright to court to prevent him from suing Bitcoin developers, demanding a ruling that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Judge James Mellor said Thursday that Wright was not Satoshi Nakamoto and that he would give full reasons for his decision at a later date.
