Ludowitz Klein overcame a broken ankle to defeat Mateusz Rebicki on Saturday, pulling off an unexpected win ufc 321 in Abu Dhabi.
Fighting Rebicki in a light preliminary fight, Klein looked sharper than his opponent in the striking exchanges and defended the Pole’s takedown attempts well.

With this, Klein appeared to take a two-round lead into the third and final frame, but in that round, Rebecki defeated the Slovak.
And replays showed that Klein’s leg had almost twisted in the wrong direction as he was trapped under it.
The 30-year-old Klein faltered and was forced to try to avoid Rebicki’s ground and pound for most of the round, with the pole also bleeding on him from above – thanks to the earlier damage Klein had inflicted on the 33-year-old.
Klein, to his credit, actually had to launch his attack from the bottom, but he was absorbing a massive amount of punches and elbows as he somehow made it to the final buzzer.
However, he could not stand it at the conclusion of the fight. And when the scorecards confirmed a majority-decision victory for Klein (29-28, 28-27, 28-28), he was forced to celebrate by sitting on a stool.
“I broke my ankle in the third round,” he emotionally told the UFC legend, apologizing for not performing better.
Klein was then taken out of the main hall of the Etihad Arena on a stretcher.
