London:
An empty Virgin Atlantic plane collided with the wingtip of a stationary British Airways jet as it was being towed from a parking bay at London’s Heathrow Airport on Saturday, Virgin Atlantic said.
Heathrow, Britain’s busiest airport, said there were no reports of passenger injuries and it did not expect any lasting impact on airport operations.

British Airways said in a statement: “Our engineering teams are assessing our aircraft and we have offered replacement aircraft to limit the impact on customers.”
Virgin Atlantic said the incident occurred at Terminal 3 when its unoccupied Boeing 787-9 aircraft had just completed a flight and was being towed to another part of the airport.
A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: “We have begun a full and thorough investigation and our engineering teams are carrying out maintenance checks on the aircraft, which is currently out of service.”
The airline said there would be no disruption to Saturday’s flight schedule.
Heathrow Airport said it was working with emergency services and both airlines to respond to the incident.
