Two detained in Chhattisgarh for killing woman, having sex with corpse

Two men are being held in Chhattisgarh state’s Balrampur district for allegedly murdering a 30-year-old relative and having sex with her corpse, a police official said on Monday. The incident took place on January 30 in a forest near Parsagudi Haritma village within Rajpur station limits and two accused, including a minor, were detained on Sunday, he said.

He said the 17-year-old minor was the younger brother of the woman’s husband, while the other accused was also related to the victim. “The woman and her husband moved to Akola in Surgujja district, a few kilometers from Parsagudi, for work. On the day of the incident, the accused called her over the phone to come to Haritma forest to irrigate farmland,” he said.

“That night, the trio drank alcohol before the young boy strangled her with a nylon rope. Her body was discovered by passers-by the next morning. The investigation is targeting two defendants who admitted to killing her and sharing her body with her Have sex,” the official said. Police officials said further investigation into the crime is ongoing.
