President Volodimier Zelansky said on Tuesday that Ukrainian soldiers had caught two Chinese citizens fighting with the Russian army, seeking clarification from Kiev Beijing.
Moscow and Beijing have claimed their “no limits” partnership in recent years and deepened political, military and economic cooperation as a full -scale invasion in Ukraine, Russia, began in February 2022.
Zelancesi said in a post on social media, “Our army captured two Chinese citizens, who fought in the Russian army. It took place in the region of Ukraine – in the Donnetsk region.”
“We have documents of these prisoners, bank cards and individual data,” Zelansky said in a post that included a video of one of the alleged Chinese prisoners.
In the video, a person was shown wearing military fatigue with his hands, during a clear interview with an Ukrainian official, chanting a small number of words from the fighter and a small number of words in Mandarin.

A senior Ukrainian official told the AFP that the prisoners were prone to Chinese citizens, instead of being sent by Beijing, was included in signing a contract with the Russian army.
