US President Donald Trump opposed an Israeli scheme to kill Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, CNN said, amidst the ongoing waves of the tight-for-tat strike between Israel and Iran.
Over the weekend, a senior American official told CNN, “Israelis had the opportunity to kill the supreme leader of Iran.
The US told Israel that Trump opposed the plan, the senior official said, and the plan was not executed. Trump is eager for de-suscule, beware of being stuck in another Middle East war and is much more than the changing politics of his party.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday morning (local time) that “there are such false reports of conversation that have never happened and I will not go into it”. A Netanyahu spokesperson told CNN that the report of Trump’s rejecting an Israeli plan is “fake”.
Even after the struggle increased, the administration officials made it clear that they were open to continue nuclear talks with Iran – hoping that, despite impossible obstacles, they could resolve a peaceful solution according to CNN.
Sources familiar with the case say that Israel has talked about increasing its level of participation with the US, although an Israeli official warned that those conversations have not yet included the “practical” discussions of the term details.
While Trump is expected to avoid a long -term struggle that can make the Middle East more unstable, some people in administration believe that US military assistance can help Israel to eliminate its objectives more quickly, CNN said.
“We are not involved in this. It is possible that we can join it. But we are not involved in this moment,” Trump said, CNN said.
Since Israel started its first attack, the US has offered a defensive support to Israel, stopping an attack of Iranian vengeance attacks, according to CNN.
But Trump prevented Iran from joining the Israeli army in his efforts to eliminate Iran’s atomic facilities, protesting pressure to join the battle with other Republicans.
