Heartfelt tribute paid to ‘Once in Life’ Shopaholic Writer Sophie Kinsella Who died at the age of 55.

“We can’t imagine what life would be like without her sparkle and love for life.

“Despite her illness, which she endured with unimaginable courage, Sophie considered herself truly blessed – to have such wonderful family and friends, and to have had extraordinary success in her writing career. She never took anything for granted and was always grateful for the love she received.

“She will be greatly missed, our hearts are breaking.”

Kinsella, best known for her best-selling Shopaholic novels, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2022.

Glioblastoma is the deadliest and most aggressive type of brain cancer. Around 3,200 people are diagnosed with glioblastoma each year in the UK. Of these, only 160 survive for five years or more.

Dr Michelle Afif, chief executive of the brain tumor charity where Kinsella was an ambassador, said: “Sophie was a courageous advocate and, along with her family and friends, a tireless supporter of our work.

“He did so much to raise vital awareness of brain tumors and the urgent need for more research to find better treatments. We have been privileged to know him and his wonderful family.

“He was loved by so many. His books and his amazing energy will continue to be an inspiration to us all. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans around the world.”
