Traffic police headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir issued traffic advisory on 25 July 2025. Due to the ongoing road maintenance and Shri Amarnathji Yatra, some roads must have regulated the traffic movement.
Passengers are advised to travel during the day on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, especially between Ramban and Banihal, due to the risk of shooting stones. Vehicle operators carrying fresh parishbals and live stocks should load their vehicles as per the advice of the traffic police headquarters, which see single-lane traffic and poor road conditions in some parts.
On Jammu-Srinagar NHW, Sanji convoy, LMV and private cars will be allowed from both sides, while HMV will be allowed in alternative days. Cut-off timing is specified for LMV and passenger vehicles of Nagrota, Jokhani and Kajigund.
After assessing the road and traffic status, HMVs will be allowed to move from Navig Tunnel to Jammu, and no HMV will be allowed after 1900 hours. Some vehicles including tankers and trucks carrying empty LPG cylinders will use the Mughal Road while returning to Jammu.
The traffic movement will also be regulated on the installment-tonathan-sanathanag NH-244, SSG Road and Mughal Road, which is subject to proper weather and good road conditions. Passengers are advised to avoid unnecessary stops, especially near landslides and shooting stone areas, and carrying sufficient fuel and vehicle fitness.
