A Conservative MP has claimed that introducing conscription would be “good value for money” if the threats facing Britain were “real” and “real”.
Speaking to Matthew Wright on LBC on Saturday 6 April, Tobias Ellwood, who served in the British Army, said: “I like it when people do The idea of some form of service.
“But … it’s not for everyone. There are a lot of things you can do to support your country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to bear arms. We need to be flexible about that.”
It comes after Nato allies said the British Army should consider conscription to stop Vladimir Putin’s aggression in Europe.
