Hyderabad, October 24 (IANS) A massive bus fire in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district claimed many young lives and left many families shattered.
The 19 passengers who were burnt alive included Anusha Reddy (22) and Chandana (23) from Telangana and Gannamaneni Dhatri (27) from Andhra Pradesh. All of them were working in IT companies in Bengaluru.
The V Kaveri Travels bus was going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. A sleeper coach bus caught fire near Chinnatekur on the outskirts of Kurnool in the early hours of Friday. The accident occurred when a two-wheeler collided with the bus and its fuel tank caught fire.
She, a resident of Pusapadu in Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh, had gone to Hyderabad to meet her uncle. She boarded the bus at JNTU on Thursday night. He was allotted seat number U1.
As the fire broke out under the front of the bus, most of the people sitting on the front seats could not escape.
Anusha Reddy was a resident of Vastakondur in Gundala mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana. She boarded the ill-fated bus at Lakdikapool and was allotted seat U9.
Anusha was returning to Bengaluru after celebrating Diwali at her native place.
Chandana, another technical expert and her mother Sandhya Rani (43), hailing from Medak district, also became unfortunate victims of this disaster.
Chandana was working as a software employee in Bengaluru, while Sandhya Rani had to travel from Bengaluru to Muscat to join her husband, who works there.
According to family members, Sandhya Rani had come to Medak with her husband Anand Kumar recently for a family wedding. While Anand Kumar had returned to Muscat a week ago, Sandhya Rani had to postpone her ticket due to fever.
The tragic fire accident took the lives of all four members of a family from Andhra Pradesh.
The deceased include Gola Ramesh (35), his wife Anusha (30), their daughter Manvita (10) and son Manish (12). The family was a resident of Golavaripalli village in Vinjamur mandal of Nellore district.
The family boarded the bus at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad and occupied seats L5, L6, U5 and U6.
