Three people were killed and one seriously injured after a car crash near Brent Cross shopping center in north London.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “At 11.26pm on Sunday, April 14, police were called to reports of a road traffic incident involving a car at Staples Point Retail Park.

“No other vehicles are believed to be involved in the incident.

“Officers attended the scene along with London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance.

“They found five people, all believed to be men in their early 20s.

“Sadly, three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to hospital, one in a critical condition and the other assessed to have non-life threatening injuries.”

Inspector William McDonald, one of the police officers responsible for policing Barnet, said: “Emergency services responded to what appeared to be a horrific incident last night.

“Police are conducting urgent inquiries to establish the full circumstances, led by detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Team.

“Officers are in the process of informing the families of these five young people. The families will be supported by specialist officers. My sincere condolences are with them.”
