New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) In a major success for security forces struggling with Naxalite rebellion in Dakshin Bastar Dantewada, three suspected Maoists were detained and a live pressure IED was recovered during a joint operation organized by Malwahi police station and CRPF personnel on Monday.
The operation was part of an ongoing Naxalite campaign, led by Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai, Additional SPS Udit Pushkar and RK Burman.
The campaign has intensified patrolling and search operations across the district, resulting in a series of arrest and recovery.
A joint team of Malwahi Police Station and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) went fast to the Malawahi camp near the Sevenhar Bridge, working on a tip-off with a informer, a joint police station and a joint team of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force). On arrival, three persons tried to hide, but were quickly surrounded and detained.
The police officer said the suspects were identified as Santu Mandvi (36), Maniram alias Manish (24), and Sukhman Mandvi (24), all the residents of Kahnar village.
During interrogation, Trikri confessed as active members of the banned CPI (M) Maoist organization and recently accepted his participation in an IED blast near Sadhar Bridge, injuring two CRPF Jawans. He also revealed the presence of a living pressure IED in the region.
After their disclosure, the joint team proceeded on the site and recovered a 1 kg pressure IED, which was safely disabled on the spot, the officials said.
Along with explosive equipment, other materials used in the explosion were also confiscated.
A Naxalite Identification Card was found during the operation, which confirmed their affiliation. The suspects are currently in custody, and the formal arrest process is going on. He will be presented before the court for further legal action.
This operation underscores the effectiveness of coordinated intelligence and area action in curbing rebel activities.
Authorities have confirmed their commitment to maintain pressure on Naxalite network and ensure safety of both citizens and security personnel in the region. The campaign continues with fresh speed and vigilance.
