New Delhi, October 29 (IANS) The BJP has strongly attacked the election manifesto of the Grand Alliance and termed it as “not a manifesto, but a bundle of lies”. BJP leaders accused the opposition-led alliance of misleading the people of Bihar with empty promises and said it reflected their intention to return to “jungle raj”.
Speaking to IANS, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “Promises are being made, but the intention is of jungle raj. The people of Bihar still remember the pain and wounds of the previous era of jungle raj. Everyone knows that these promises are a fraud. If they think they can garner votes through such false assurances, they are wrong. The grand alliance has already collapsed. No matter how many manifestos they release, every time This will only shock them.”
BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal also rejected the Grand Alliance’s promises, saying, “They will never come to power. How can anyone promise a government job for every household? Tejashwi Yadav has played a big betrayal with the people of Bihar. This manifesto is not for the people – it is the personal agenda of the Grand Alliance. People will not fall for such deception.”
Union minister BL Verma echoed similar sentiments, saying, “This is no longer a grand alliance – Tejashwi Yadav is everything in it. This so-called manifesto is a bundle of lies designed to fool the people of Bihar. But the people are intelligent and are fully aware of his intentions.”
All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba also said, “Whether it is the national election or Bihar’s, women are now bringing forward their issues. We are fighting this election seriously, focusing on women’s concerns – inflation, unemployment, security, permanent housing and other urgent issues.”
On Tuesday, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led grand alliance released its manifesto for the Bihar assembly elections. The highlight of the manifesto is ‘Bihar ka Tejashwi Pran’ (Pledge of Tejashwi for Bihar) as it seeks to tell voters that the young and dynamic RJD leader will be the driving force of the Grand Alliance, even if he forms the next government in the poll-bound state.
Tejashwi, the CM face of the grand alliance, has already taken center stage in the elections with big promises of government job to every family and financial assistance under ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’ for crores of women of the state.
The manifesto was released in a joint press conference in Patna. Apart from Tejashwi Yadav, VIP’s Mukesh Sahni, CPI (ML)’s Dipankar Bhattacharya, Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Akhilesh Prasad Singh were present on the stage during the manifesto launch.
On the occasion of the manifesto launch, Tejashwi Yadav said, “We want to form the government, but its objective will be to make Bihar. It is a matter of happiness that we all together are presenting this resolution. This is our resolution. We will risk our lives to fulfill every resolution. We want to make a developed Bihar.”
