Nowadays, most smartphones support Wi-Fi voice calling option, which helps people avoid bad network issues. Now, this calling mode is becoming a much-needed feature that many people tend to use. According to reports, Samsung Galaxy users can actually record calls made via VoWiFi mode.

The feature comes via the latest One UI 6.1 version, which is based on Android 14 and will be available for older Galaxy devices in the coming months.

Google’s version of Android no longer allows you to record calls, but other versions of Android UI such as One Ui, OxygenOS, and ColorOS have this feature. Samsung users can now use it for VoWiFi calling as well, and other brands using custom Android UIs are likely to expand support in the near future.

If your Samsung Galaxy phone has received a UI update for the Android 14 version, you should update the Galaxy Dialer app to version 15.1.66 or even higher. The new version is only available to those who purchase the Galaxy S24 model launched in 2024.

Call recording has become a privacy issue for many people, which is why Google decided to remove its support from the native version of Android, meaning Pixel users cannot use the feature. That being said, recording calls does have some positives, especially if you want to use it as evidence for some reason.

Galaxy phone users using One Ui 6.0 or earlier have actually mentioned that call recording via VoWiFi calling is not possible, so it is only a matter of time before the feature is rolled out for these users. We still don’t know if other brands will support the feature, but we’ll likely hear more about it in the coming months. As we mentioned, the VoWiFi calling setup allows you to take calls indoors, where you would typically experience network outages or even dropped calls.
