“Many directors and media personalities have approached me, pointing out the striking similarities between Premam and Autograph, suggesting that Alphonse Puslen would adapt my story into his film. Considering the success of Premam, they I was even encouraged to assert my rights. Apart from the core plot, there are several other similarities between the two films. It was when Senthil moved to Kerala to attend college and fell in love with a girl named Rasika ( George also develops feelings for Malal (Sai Pallavi), a Tamil woman in Kerala,” he said.

Furthermore, he added: “However, I don’t get offended when people mention the similarities between the two films. Inspiration can come from anywhere and is not limited to watching international films. Indian Film Production People can also take inspiration from our movies. So shouldn’t we be gratified when someone creates a movie based on our inspiration? Why shouldn’t we look at it positively? I’m glad to think that Autograph is Played an important role in Premam’s success.”

Cheran also revealed that he had a conversation with Puslen after watching Premam and said both the films had different styles. “I expressed to him that while the core story may be derived from the same source, the portrayal and journey of the characters in the film provide a unique experience.
