Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Wednesday that there is a need to promote tourist destinations of Kashmir at the local level, especially before visitors across the country.
After presiding over a high-level meeting in Gulmarg, according to the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a day after a similar session in Pahgam, CM, a day after a day after a similar session, it is clear that after 22 April, the entire process came to a stop. This is why we are taking the first step of ourselves. ,
The Chief Minister also directed the Education Minister to encourage schools and colleges to organize a tour in places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam to initiate a sense of generality.
Omar welcomed a voluntary visit by a delegation of members, given that he reached on his own. He said, “We did not invite him. He contacted us and expressed his desire to travel. I hope his journey will prove beneficial for tourism here.”
He also accepted the ongoing sanctions at several tourist places and emphasized the need to review them. “Yes, there are still closed areas – such as Duthapathri, Betab Valley, and parts of Gulmarg and Pahgam. But, if we are serious about resumption of tourism, we should gradually assure and reduce these restrictions.”
