Continuing its efforts to combat crime and ensure public security, the Budgam police have successfully resolved the theft case in a short time and arrested three accused involved in the crime.
A spokesperson said that police station Charor-e-Sharf received a written complaint from Site Technician with Faiz Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Ghani Bhat, a resident of Kazipora Chadura, and a written complaint from the Site Technician, which about the attempted attempts at the tower site in Kakwing. Accordingly, an FIR number 46/2025 was registered under Section 62, 303 (2) BNS, and investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, it was discovered that recently several theft incidents took place at Tower sites during Charor-I-Sharyad sub-division. Several suspects were questioned, and two of them confessed to another theft on a tower site in Hanjura village with their participation in the Cocoving incident.
Based on their revelations, eight stolen tower batteries were recovered. The accused have been identified as Gulzar Ahmed Gani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ghani, a resident of Arigam Budgam, son of Mohammad Rafi Khan, Ghulam Mohiuddin Khan, Arjigam Budgam and resident of Mohammad Shafi Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar.
All three have been arrested and under Section 303 (2) BNS, FIR has been handed over to police station Chadura in connection with number 120/2025.
