A minister did not reply when asked if any labor MPs who revolted about Kalyan this week would be removed.
Baronic Jackie Smith was asked by Times Radio whether the rebels would be removed, he told the station: “I think what is important and from – as you say – as you say – to talk to my experience as a former main whip, to keep talking, explaining those tricks that the government has already formed to recognize some concerns.”
Pushed again whether the whip would be removed, he later said that people would hear more from ministers on Monday.

Sir Kir Stmper is starting a last minute attempt to win over dozens of labor MPs who rebel against their welfare reforms.
Despite giving concessions on last week’s law, around 50 labor MPs are planning to vote against the bill in a crunch vote on Tuesday.
The original welfare bill proposed to introduce a high bar for eligibility for personal freedom payment (PIP), and cut the health related element of universal credit.
But after more than 100 labor MPs were called to end these changes, the government said that its proposed rules would now apply to new claims only from November 2026.
