The royal family won’t make any ‘public’ gestures for Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday

Although Queen Elizabeth has passed away, her memory lives on and it is touching that the royal family will be celebrating her 98th birthday.

According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, speaking on behalf of jargonthe late monarch will be commemorated privately, with no public ceremony planned.

He shared: “They won’t do anything publicly. Privately, I have no doubt they will raise a toast to her in the evening. I’m sure the day will be spent reflecting on the late Queen.”

He went on to add that members of the public who love the Queen may visit her resting place in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle and leave flowers and other tributes.

Grant also recalled his experience with the Queen and praised her sense of humour.

“When I was with the Queen, I often heard about her sense of humour, and sometimes you couldn’t tell if she was serious or not, but her sense of humor was amazing and sometimes she would catch you off guard.

“So I had heard about it and I remember being in Scotland with her and one night I went in and announced dinner. I went to see her and I walked up and nodded and said ‘dinner is ready’ and there were other things there Guest. She walked out of the room and looked back into the room. No one else was following her.”
