Buckingham Palace has made a major announcement about protecting the palace and other historic buildings from natural disasters.

The royal family’s social media accounts shared a new video announcing the protection of cultural heritage.

The video is captioned: “The scheme aims to protect this historic building from the threat of fire or flood, ensure the palace is fit for purpose and protect it for future generations.

Buckingham Palace is recognized around the world as the residence of the monarch, the focus of national and royal celebrations and the backdrop for the regular Changing of the Guard ceremonies.

Buckingham Palace also wrote: “In 2024, Buckingham Palace’s reserve program will enter its seventh year with the reopening of the East Wing.” This summer, the public will see two new royal buildings.
