Newly released video shows an e-bike catching fire on a London train platform during rush hour.

On the evening of March 21, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to Sutton train station as commuters headed home.

Owner Sahab Singh, 25, purchased the e-bike from an online marketplace four months ago.

He said he had no problems until the day of the fire, when he was waiting for a train on the platform.

“I feel lucky that I escaped and no one was hurt. It was very scary,” Mr Singh said.

The LFB said there have been 31 e-bike fires and nine e-scooter fires in the capital this year.
