“There will also be rain across north-east England during Saturday, some of which may fall as snow on higher ground when the system meets cold air coming from the north.
“Sunday will be dry and bright for many areas with strong winds near some North Sea coasts, although it will be colder. Widespread frost is expected overnight into Monday before the next weather system arrives.”
Forecasters say 20 to 30 mm of rain could fall across much of Wales and England, with up to 50 mm possible in some places. But on higher ground there is a possibility of 60 to 80 mm of fall.
This heavy rainfall could be accompanied by strong winds, especially over eastern parts of England on Saturday night.
