The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl XVIII.
This is the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl appearance and fourth in the past five years as they look to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005.
The Ravens trailed 17-7 early in the fourth quarter and came close to scoring, but receiver Zay Flowers fumbled while jumping over the goal line and the Chiefs tied the game. Kansas City forced another turnover when safety Deon Bush intercepted Lamar Jackson with 6:45 left in the fourth quarter.
Baltimore turned the game into a possession game when Justin Tucker scored on a field goal with 2:34 left. But on the Chiefs’ ensuing possession, Patrick Mahomes threw a 32-yard pass to Max Valdez-Scantling on 3rd-and-9 to seal the victory for Kansas City.
Messages of congratulations poured in for the AFC Champions – even from the team’s own social media accounts.
The Chiefs mocked the Ravens after the game by referencing Baltimore’s show “The Wire.”

When did we start putting Andy Reid in the greatest coach of all time category? I don’t think anyone will catch Bill, but still…

I honestly don’t think the Niners or Lions can beat them. The big difference is the Chiefs defense is so dominant this year…oh, and they have #15.
