A driver has accused the court of failing to stop at the scene of a deadly accident, killing a brother and sister who was riding an e-scooter.
Roman Caseldon, 16, and nine -year -old Darcy Casleedon were declared dead on 1 February at the spot in Essex in Essex.
Essex police said on Tuesday that the driver of a car, 21 -year -old woman, Dimanta Ziotete, has been accused of failing to stop at the collision scene.
The force stated that Zioobryte, which was detected in a court document as Merivale in Benfet, appeared before the Basildan Magistrate Court on 28 August.
Police said it was due to appearing before the same court on 8 January 2026.
The force said in a statement that Ziobreet “remains on bail in relation to other driving crimes and our investigation is on”.
The statement said, “A person arrested at that time has been told that he does not take any further action.”
An inquiry about the two deaths, which was opened and the results of the police investigation were pending earlier this year, heard that the two brothers and sisters died of a painful head injury.
Essex Area Coroner Michelle Brown, who opened separate inquiries at Chelmsford in February, stated that the brothers and sisters were “traveling on e-scooter”.
He said the e-scooter “was involved in a confrontation with a motor vehicle who was traveling to the east with Ashlin, coming near Stokfelde”.
Koroner said that emergency services participated and Darcy was declared dead at 7.10 pm, and Roman at 7.50 pm.
The coroner gave the provisional cause of death for each child as “painful head injury pending further investigation”.
He said that Roman and Darcy were “very young” and in this case “very tragic circumstances”.
The children’s mother Emma said in a statement issued through the police that “their love, kindness and soul live in the hearts of all those who knew him”.
