Telangana policeman injured by minister's convoy

Hyderabad:

An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kottagudem district suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a vehicle in a minister’s convoy while on duty, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place when ASP Paritosh Pankaj of Bhadrachalam was visited by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday, they said. Occurs while performing an emergency mission in town.

A car from the Minister of State’s motorcade hit him from behind, causing him to fall. A video of the incident went viral.

Pankaj was immediately taken to a local hospital and later shifted to Hyderabad for treatment, a senior police officer said, adding that he sustained minor injuries in the incident.

“He is in good condition. He had a minor fracture next to his left eye and underwent surgery. He is fine now. He is in hospital in Hyderabad,” the official said.
