Hyderabad, October 23 (IANS) Telangana Endowments and Forest Minister Konda Surekha has slammed Chief Minister A. Apologized to Revanth Reddy.
Surekha told media persons after the cabinet meeting on Thursday that some fights had taken place due to misunderstanding.
“Like any family, there were some fights in the party due to misunderstandings. We have to work together like we do in a family,” he said.
The minister said that his daughter, upset with the arrival of the police at his residence, said something about the Chief Minister and for this she apologized to the Chief Minister.
Konda Surekha said that they will move ahead after resolving the differences.
The minister had met the Chief Minister on Monday night, just days after his sacked OSD was searched by the police on extortion charges, causing a storm in the ruling Congress.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud took Surekha and her husband Konda Murali to the Chief Minister’s residence in an attempt to defuse the tension created by the arrival of a police team at the Minister’s house in search of OSD N Sumanth and the anger of the Minister’s daughter Sushmita against the Chief Minister and some senior leaders.
The AICC had taken serious note of the incident that took place at Surekha’s residence in Hyderabad on the night of October 15, when a police team reached there to arrest her.
Sumant, whose contract as OSD to the minister was terminated by the government following allegations that he had threatened the management of a cement factory with a gun to extort money.
Surekha’s daughter Sushmita had refused to let the police team enter the house and asked them to show the arrest warrant. He had a heated argument with the police officers present in plain clothes.
Sumanth, who was present in the house, reportedly left in a car with the minister.
Speaking to media persons, Sushmita had alleged that the case was registered against Sumant to target her parents. He made serious allegations against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, his advisor Vem Narendra Reddy and Revenue Minister P. Srinivas Reddy. She alleged that her parents were being targeted because they belonged to a backward caste.
There were allegations that Sumant had threatened a Deccan Cements official with a gun for extortion.
